First Trimester

  • More than 60% of pregnant women experience food cravings 
  • Morning sickness is your body rejecting toxins and chemicals that could harm the baby. Many women experience heightened senses of smell and taste to help them avoid toxins.

Second Trimester

  • Your skins oil production rises and your blood volume increases by 50% - These changes are most apparent in your face, giving you a pregnancy glow. 
  • In the second trimester the baby weighs around 2 pounds and you can hear the baby’s heartbeat with a stethoscope.

Third Trimester

  • Relaxation of the tendons in your feet can cause you to go up a shoe size. Make sure you wear good shoes during this time to ensure you don’t have ongoing feet issues. 
  • Pressure from baby’s growth may cause indigestion or heartburn. 
  • The baby begins breathing movements even before the lungs are fully mature.
  • Baby (hopefully) moves into the head down position preparing for birth.
