Donor & Recipient Programs
Eggs (Oocytes), Sperm and Embryos
Coastal IVF Donor Programs
At our clinic, our donor gamete (oocytes/sperm) and embryo program operates separately from our standard fertility treatments to address the specific and complex requirements set forth by the Australian NHMRC guidelines.
In Australia, all donations must be altruistic, meaning donors cannot receive payment for their contributions. However, they may be reimbursed for reasonable “out-of-pocket” expenses incurred during the donation process.
Patients have the option to recruit their own donor, such as a friend or sibling, or to choose an anonymous donor through our comprehensive programs.
For more information or to discuss your options, please contact our practice to schedule an appointment today. We’re here to support you on your journey to building a family.

Recipient Information
At Coastal IVF, we understand that some patients may require donated eggs, sperm, or embryos to achieve a successful pregnancy. We offer a variety of options designed to support you on your fertility journey.
Oocytes (Eggs)
1) Known donors – This option allows patients to receive eggs from a sister, friend, or relative who is willing to undergo the IVF process to donate eggs to someone they know.
2) Anonymous Donors – Our program includes access to women who have chosen to undergo IVF procedures—both locally and abroad—to donate eggs for the treatment of individuals or couples facing infertility.
3) Central IVF Partnership – Coastal IVF has partnered with the UK-based Central IVF to offer donor eggs and sperm from overseas. This partnership provides minimal wait times and ensures the availability of embryos. For more information, please visit their website.
Sperm
Similar to oocytes, sperm donors can be known (such as a friend, sibling, or relative) or anonymous. Coastal IVF offers both local and international donor sperm options for patients needing this service to conceive. Donor sperm can be utilised across all types of assisted reproductive techniques, not just IVF.
Embryos
Donor embryos are altruistically donated by former patients who have successfully completed their families through Coastal IVF. These donations are primarily anonymous and are subject to limited availability. For more information, please inquire with our practice.
Donating
Donating: A Generous and Rewarding Act
Donating sperm, eggs, or embryos is an incredibly generous and rewarding contribution to the lives of those seeking to build their families. Many couples face challenges in conceiving due to abnormal or absent sperm or egg production, and they rely on donor gametes (sperm or eggs) or embryos to achieve their dreams of parenthood.
Under current regulations, donors cannot be financially compensated for their donations; however, they may be reimbursed for reasonable out-of-pocket expenses incurred during the donation process.
Donations can either be anonymous or known, such as between siblings or friends. In some Australian states, regulations require donor information to be maintained in a central register to facilitate future contact between the donor and the child.
All donors are required to undergo counselling with one of our fertility counsellors to ensure they fully understand the implications of their donation.
If you’re interested in becoming a donor or would like more information about the donation process, please contact our practice at (07) 5443 4301 or via email at info@coastalivf.com.au. We are here to answer your questions and support you in this generous endeavour.
